HERMITAGE, Penn. — St. Mary Central Catholic did all of its scoring in the first quarter, topping Kennedy Catholic 31-0 in non-league 8-man football action Saturday. Bryan Gibson finished with four touchdown runs for the Panthers (3-0). He scored on runs of 25, 15, 6 and 30 yards. Josh Will added a 2-yard touchdown for SMCC. Trace Smith and Benny Byington each had interceptions for the Panthers, who host Stryker at 7 p.m. Saturday. FRIDAY NIGHT Margaretta 48, Brookside 7 CASTALIA — Zack Bouy returned the opening kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown and Margaretta routed Brookside at the Duck Pond. Margaretta led 41-0 at halftime and improved to 2-1 on the season. The Polar Bears finished with 249 yards rushing. Judah Keller carried nine times for 80 yards and a touchdown and Jake Bouy ran three times for 78 yards and two scores. Carter Luzader returned a punt 63 yards for a touchdown to give Margaretta a 28-0 lead in the second quarter. The Polar Bears open Sandusky Bay Conference River Division play Friday at Willard. Clyde outgained Ashland 439-378 and piled up 23 first downs, but was hurt by three turnovers. Clyde's Adam Young carried 31 times for 117 yards and two touchdowns as the Fliers dominated time of possession. Jonathan Lantz completed 22 of 32 passes for 287 yards and two interceptions for Clyde. Hunter Thomas caught six passes for 95 yards for the Fliers. Dekin Crockett had seven receptions for 83 yards.
