Clothier cuts ties with Sandusky

SANDUSKY — A longtime local clothier is cutting ties with his yearslong connection to Sandusky. "The Sandusky store is now officially closed," according to a post this past week from Erik's Fine Clothing & Art, referring to owner Erik Anderson's building storefront on Jackson Street in downtown Sandusky. "We're busy preparing our new store in downtown Lorain, and we look forward to welcoming you to this new community we love so much," the post read. The post also referenced aha creative, a graphic design company, and its owner/Erik's wife, Amy Anderson. Amy and her company are also on the move with Erik and his side of the business. "Thanks for the support, and we'll see you in Lorain very soon," the post read. For more than 30 years, Anderson — who got his start with the now-shuttered Marv Byer Clothiers — has worked in retail, which included running his own shop in Sandusky for nearly two decades. He previously worked out of storefronts on, in this order, West Water, West Market and East Water streets. Many regard Anderson as Sandusky's go-to clothier and tailor for collared shirts, suits, ties, dress pants, leather shoes, fancy hats and more, always offering a personalized touch. "The quality of goods here is much higher than anything else in the area," Erik said in a past Register article. "That's because I care about my customers. I want them to have the best. I have so many good clients working with really good products that I can sell. I offer personal service, information about products and dressing. You can't get that online or anywhere else.
