Get revved up for car show

SANDUSKY — A popular yearly car show fundraiser takes place this weekend — and with it comes several street closures throughout downtown Sandusky. Earlier this week, city officials notified the public about which roads they can't access during the annual Crusin' by the Bay event, which occurs on Friday and Saturday. Among the posted closures: From 7 a.m. Friday through 6 p.m. Saturday • Columbus Avenue from Adams to Water streets • Washington Street from Jackson to Wayne streets • The entirety of Washington Row • Market Street from Jackson to Wayne streets; Note: West Market Street will remain open from Jackson Street to the Erie County Office Building's parking garage until 5 p.m. Friday. • Water Street from Columbus Avenue to mid-block in each direction "Visitors coming to Sandusky City Hall, the Erie County Office Building or other downtown organizations and businesses on Friday, Sept. 5 can park in the Erie County parking garage on West Market Street," according to a city statement. The "garage will be closed to public traffic starting at 5 p.m. Friday through 6 p.m. on Saturday." And, just for this Saturday, the Sandusky Farmers Market will relocate from the 200 block of E. Market St. The market will still run from 8 a.m. to noon. Checking out the show Now in its 33rd year, and hosted by the Remember Crusin' Car Club of Northern Ohio, this car show and cruise-in benefits the North Coast Cancer Patient Services Fund. The fund provides local support for cancer patient services, patient financial assistance, programs and education. The rain-or-shine event kicks off at 10 a.m. on both days, extending to 10 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday. There will be awards, raffles, music, food and more.
