Officer returns to Huron

HURON — Huron police commanders recently introduced Officer Logan Demuth as the newest member of the department. "Officer Demuth brings with him seven years of full-time law enforcement experience plus previous part-time experience with Huron," according to a city statement. As a patrol officer, Demuth will work closely with the community "to ensure safety, uphold the law and continue the strong tradition of community policing that makes Huron such a special place to live," the statement read. "Having grown up in Berlin Heights and knowing several officers on the Huron police force, returning to Huron was a natural fit," Demuth said. "I knew Huron would be an environment I would fit in and enjoy. I look forward to getting out and interacting with the residents of Huron." Among Demuth's goals: • Short term, to become completely familiar with the city and its residents • Long-term, he hopes to get involved with the firearms training group and work alongside other officers on tactics and related training When not on duty, Demuth enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, watching baseball and other sports, being active outside and managing his own waste management company. "Please join us in welcoming Officer Demuth to Huron," the statement read. "If you see him out on patrol, don't hesitate to stop and say 'hello.'"
