PREP ROUNDUP: Perkins rallies past PC

PORT CLINTON — Perkins lost the first set to Port Clinton on Tuesday, then dominated the Sandusky Bay Conference crossover volleyball match. The Pirates won 20-25, 25-19, 25-6, 25-23. Ferrell Coleman led Perkins with 13 kills and four blocks. Micah Slay added 13 kills. Braelyn Davie finished with 33 assists and 13 digs and Avery Maldonado had 19 digs. Alexa Pastor led PC with nine kills. Ella Carmon added eight. Perkins is 3-2 heading into its SBC Lake Division opener at home against Tiffin Columbian on Thursday. The Redskins (0-4) travel to Huron on Thursday for their SBC Bay opener. Vermilion 3, Clyde 1 VERMILION — Vermilion had 14 aces and defeated Clyde 27-25, 20-25, 25-19, 25-16 in Sandusky Bay Conference crossover play. Elyse Myntti had five aces and 14 assists and served nine straight points to lead the Sailors (1-3) in the first set. Sophie Habermehl added nine kills and 15 digs and Delaney Russell finished with 28 digs. Lauren Logsdon had 19 assists, 14 digs and five kills. Margaretta 3, Woodmore 2 ELMORE — Margaretta won a back-and-forth match at Woodmore, 25-22, 25-27, 23-25, 25-16, 15-8, in Sandusky Bay Conference crossover action. Kenadie Saylor had 18 kills to lead the Polar Bears (2-3). Lilly Belak totaled 16 kills. Ella Limberios had 39 digs. Ellie Young finished with 22 assists and Renna Keller had four aces. Monroeville 3, Crestview 0 ASHLAND — The Eagles improved to 3-2 overall and 2-0 in the Firelands Conference with a 25-20, 25-17, 25-16 win. Ady Adams had 16 kills while Alexa Adams (three aces) lined 13 kills. Maddy Reiber lined 10 kills for Monroeville while Kaci Poths registered 19 assists. Addison Lyons recorded 17 assists. Addison Homan led the defense with 40 digs, eclipsing 1,000 career digs for her career. St. Paul 3, Mapleton 0 NORWALK — The Flyers improved to 2-0 overall and in the FC with the 25-16, 25-17, 25-20 sweep over Mapleton. Ella Kalizewski had 10 kills and Brooklyn Cassidy had seven for St. Paul. Annie Friend finished with 28 assists and served 10-for-12 with two aces. Lily Cuturic paced the defense with 16 digs and Kalizewski had 12, while Kalizewski also served 20-for-21 with two aces. Bella Guerra was also 15-for-15 serving and had six digs for St. Paul, which visits South Central Thursday. Old Fort 3, SMCC 0 SANDUSKY — Old Fort swept St. Mary Central Catholic 25-13, 25-13, 25-12 in a Sandusky Bay Conference River Division match.Finley Karr had three aces for the Panthers. The Stockaders improved to 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the River. SMCC, which visits Danbury on Thursday, dropped to 1-4, 0-3. Calvert 3, Danbury 0 DANBURY TWP. — Calvert swept Danbury 25-11, 25-10, 25-10 in Sandusky Bay Conference River Division action. Calvert is 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the River. The Lakers dropped to 1-2, 0-2. BOYS GOLF Bellevue 151, Port Clinton 206 BELLEVUE — Sophomore Jackson Decker shot a 35 to lead Bellevue to a win against Port Clinton at Twin Lakes. Sam Cooper and Max Horn added 38s for the Redmen and Caden Lindsey carded a 40. Carter Thompson (47) and Derek Holly (49) led PC. GIRLS GOLF Seville leads Edison to shootout win HURON — Edison's Annabelle Seville shot a 37 to win medalist honors and lead the Chargers to a team victory in an SBC Bay shootout at Thunderbird Hills South. The Chargers shot a 189. Margaretta was second at 206, followed by Willard (220), Port Clinton (221), Huron (225) and Vermilion (239). Leah Sharp added a 47 for Edison. Averi Wolf (51) and Ella Rogers (54) rounded out the Chargers' scorecard. Port Clinton's Lillie Fox and Willard's Reese Bedingfield tied for second at 43. Margaretta's Ellyse Schaefer was fourth (44) and Ellaynah Schaefer tied for fifth (47). Danbury's Lewis 4th in River shootout SANDUSKY — Hopewell-Loudon won a 9-hole Sandusky Bay Conference River Division shootout at Mills Creek by 16 strokes. Aubrey Cline shot a 43 to lead the Chieftains to a 187 team total. Calvert finished second at 203. Old Fort (208) and Danbury (214) rounded out the top four. Ashley Lewis paced Danbury with a 44, good for fourth place overall. Fremont SJCC's Ryan Dickman was medalist with a 40. Perkins 209, St. Paul 228 NORWALK — Ireland Hart fired a 45, leading the Pirates to a non-league win at Eagle Creek. Maycee Bohn added a 52 for Perkins. Alia Bogard led St. Paul with a 54 while Aubrey Dilger carded a 56. TENNIS Port Clinton 4, Edison 1 MILAN — Port Clinton defeated Edison to improve to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the Sandusky Bay Conference River Division.
