'Trusted guide' who helps people honored

SANDUSKY — The Erie County Health Department recently announced Dr. Timothy Plank as its employee of the month for August. "Plank, a long-standing and highly respected physician at (the county's community health center) is being recognized for his exceptional dedication, patient-centered approach and profound impact on both staff and patients," according to his nomination form. Additionally, Plank has been "an integral part" of the health department's team for many years, "consistently demonstrating a commitment to providing outstanding care across various services, including primary care, mental health and addiction services," the statement read. "He is widely known among patients and colleagues for his compassionate demeanor and his unique ability to empower individuals to take active, positive steps in managing their health." "Dr. Plank embodies the very best of what we strive for at the Erie County Community Health Center," county health commissioner Pete Schade said. "His many years of dedicated service have touched countless lives, and his genuine care for each patient shines through in every interaction. He's not just a doctor: He's a trusted guide who truly helps people understand and navigate their health journey." Nicole Ziegler, the health department's chief health services officer, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing Dr. Plank's patient education philosophy.
