Chamber celebrates fair with 2 ribbon cuttings

FREMONT — On Monday, the Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce helped kick off the 173rd installment of the Sandusky County Fair, which is "a week full of community, tradition and lasting memories," according to an organizational statement. Chamber representatives marked the occasion with two ribbon-cutting ceremonies at the fairgrounds. Here's an excerpt from the statement: • "First we joined the Jim Swartz family at the fair's opening ceremony to officially start this year's celebration." • "Next we were honored to help dedicate the brand-new Miller-Russell Show Pavilion, which now stands where a canvas awning once covered the rabbit and poultry competitions. This pavilion is named in memory of Connor Miller and Paige E. Russell, two remarkable 4-H youth who are deeply missed but whose legacies will continue to inspire generations at the fair." The chamber then extended a "heartfelt thank you to the Koenig family for their generous grant, facilitated through the Sandusky County Communities Foundation, which made this pavilion possible. We are so grateful they could join us for today's dedication."
