Partnership appoints public affairs director

SANDUSKY — The Greater Sandusky Partnership recently announced the appointment of Lee Alexakos as its new director of public affairs. In this role, Alexakos will work closely with state, federal and local partners to ensure priorities of the partnership's business community are represented. She'll also make certain that resources are mobilized to advance policies that foster growth and prosperity in the greater Sandusky Bay region. Public affairs is a critical function of the chamber, allowing the organization to: • Champion the priorities of its members • Foster a sustainable pro-growth environment • Collaborate with partners to address the region's most pressing challenges • Advance policies and secure resources that support the long-term success of the community Alexakos brings a track record of leadership and community involvement to the role. She most recently served with Cedar Fair: as vice president of community relations and, prior to that, vice president of marketing. She helped shape the company's brand and business strategy at a national level. Beyond her corporate career, Alexakos has served as board chair for the Erie County Community Foundation and will assume the role of board chair for Firelands Health in the coming year. Her community service also includes leadership roles on numerous other boards where she has contributed her expertise to initiatives advancing economic development, philanthropy and community health. "Throughout my career, I've seen how collaboration between the private sector and public partners can deliver transformative results for a community," Alexakos said. Alexakos will begin her role immediately, focusing on advancing the partnership's legislative priorities, building coalitions and securing resources to support pro-growth policies. The partnership, a regional chamber, is tasked with providing comprehensive economic development services to enhance the economic vitality and quality of life of the greater Sandusky Bay region. It was formed through the integration of multiple organizations to serve as a one-stop resource for business growth. The addition of the director of public affairs role is part of a long-term strategy to strengthen advocacy efforts and deliver greater value to members. This position was incorporated into the partnership's strategic plan to ensure the organization has the capacity to address emerging challenges and seize new opportunities for the region.
