KELLEYS ISLAND • Kelleys Island hosted a wall-of-fame ribbon-cutting ceremony. Janet Wermuth, the school board president, and Phil Thiede, the past superintendent, cut the ribbon. The stand is home to historical documents, photos and archives of the school. District officials thanked those who helped complete the project, including the Kelleys Island History Museum for its collection of historical records and community members who shared their personal collections. The community is encouraged to share documents. After the school scans them, the content is returned to the owner. The school also encourages school visitors to explore the kiosk. BELLEVUE • Bellevue Schools welcomed Michael Rodriguez to the elementary school. He will be the school's resource officer for the 2025-26 school year. CLYDE-GREEN SPRINGS • Clyde High School hosted its freshmen and new student orientation. • McPherson Middle School announced its newest employee, Sully, the therapy dog. He is coming from Tiffin University, where he spent three years working with college students. He likes to play fetch, go for walks and watch squirrels. SANDUSKY • More than 90 students graduated from Safety Town. Students participated in the Wightman-Wieber Safety Town program. They learned about fire safety, stranger danger, 911/emergencies, road safety, animal safety, water safety, railroad safety, healthy living, bus and transit safety and home safety from experts. PORT CLINTON • Port Clinton Schools' custodial and maintenance teams recently received some tech training to enhance their skills. WESTERN RESERVE • Western Reserve's leadership discussed the district's strategic plan before the school year starts.
