Cookie dough business on the move

PERKINS TWP. — A local business serving cookie dough recently publicized plans to reopen and operate elsewhere in the Sandusky area. Come Oct. 1, Doughin' Crazy intends to still serve customers in a new location: within Sandusky Mall, 4314 Milan Road (U.S. 250). "Think of all the cool, sweet treats from your childhood: ice cream, cookies, even cookie dough. You'll find that and more at a brand-new addition to Sandusky Mall," according to a mall statement. "Doughin' Crazy will be serving up special offerings that will tempt any sweet tooth," it added. "This new sweet shop will be located in a 661-square-foot space in the main entrance concourse next to Zales." Earlier this month, Doughin' owner Anna Esposito announced her company would cease operations at its original and, up until now, only location: in the Marketplace Downtown. Doughin — which debuted in 2019, coinciding with the marketplace's opening in downtown Sandusky — marked its last day in the marketplace on Aug. 10. "An unexpected opportunity came our way, and we had to quickly decide which direction to go," Esposito said on her decision to reopen Doughin' in the mall. Just like in the marketplace, at the mall, people can order cookie dough in various flavors. These dishes could be eaten by themselves or infused in a milkshake concoction with Toft Dairy ice cream. "We have a lot of work to do but are looking forward to the growth it will bring," Esposito said. "We're excited for this next chapter at the Sandusky Mall and can't wait to see everyone there."
