Cottage owners mark 25 years

LAKESIDE-MARBLEHEAD — Traditions and memories are at the heart of Lakeside, shaping the unique community we all love. Located at the corner of Second Street and Maple Avenue, the Keystone Guest House is a multi-suite cottage that has long been a favorite among Lakesiders. Many guests plan their vacations around its availability. Some return to the same suite year after year, while others enjoy trying a different one each time. The suites include a full kitchen, and the front porch offers a peaceful spot to unwind. For the past 25 years, the guest house has been lovingly cared for by owners Elaine and David Cottrell. Built in 1888, Keystone Guest House has changed families only three times. As the fourth owners, the Cottrells have honored Keystone's legacy while making thoughtful improvements. They've renovated bathrooms, maintained the house with subtle updates and regularly refreshed the decor, sparking a fun tradition of "spot the difference" with returning guests. They've kept the original name and continue great relationships with tenants, including some who have rented since before the Cottrells took ownership. To mark their 25th year of ownership, Elaine and David have introduced traditions that are quickly becoming staples of the Keystone experience. They've added welcome baskets and a coupon raffle, including vouchers for Lakeside businesses. For the Cottrells, running Keystone Guest House isn't work, but an opportunity to connect with guests.
