Brumbaugh ready to lead Rotary

Editor's note: Pamela Brumbaugh, a local resident and longtime Sandusky Rotary Club member, recently became the organization's district governor. Rotary, which boasts more than 1.2 million members worldwide, is dedicated to service and their respective communities. Its members volunteer their time, talents and resources to address critical community issues. SANDUSKY — It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as the 2025–26 district governor for Rotary District 6600, which spans 58 clubs and about 2,700 members across northern Ohio. District 6600 is filled with passionate, service-minded leaders, and my role is to support, guide and inspire them as we work together to make an even greater impact in our communities and around the world. This year, Rotary International's theme is Unite for Good, a call for all of us to come together in partnership and purpose. My personal focus, as district governor, draws from Katy Perry's song "Roar," encouraging our members to find their voice, stand up for what matters and boldly take action to change lives. For me, this role is more than an organizational title: It is the opportunity to lead a team of compassionate, skilled and service-minded people who believe in Service Above Self. My focus is on building partnerships, strengthening our clubs and ensuring that our district remains relevant and vibrant so we can grow our membership and our impact. And my professional career as a social worker and advocate has been dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate challenges, find resources and protect their dignity. That same passion for service drew me to Rotary, an organization that mirrors my belief that lasting change happens when people come together, roll up their sleeves and take action. Since joining Rotary in 2007, I have been privileged to serve as club president, 2016 to 2017, club program chair and helped launch both the membership orientation committee and a lasting literacy project for newborns in partnership with the Sandusky Library and Firelands Health. I have also chaired our club's scholarship committee and organized two diaper drives for Heartbeat of Sandusky. At the district level, I chaired the grants committee for two terms, served two years as and assistant governor for Area 12. I have attended four Rotary International conventions and numerous zone events, each time returning with new ideas and renewed energy to strengthen our clubs. As district governor, my role is to connect our clubs with resources, encourage collaboration and empower members to create meaningful projects locally and globally. Together, we will amplify our collective voice, expand Rotary's reach and make sure every member feels valued, engaged and inspired to serve. After all, when we unite for good — and roar with conviction — we have the power to change the world.
