Boys & Girls Club announces sites

SANDUSKY — The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio recently announced it will provide free after-school programming for youth ages, between the ages of 6 and 18, at 30 clubs across the region during the 2025-26 school year. This would include sites in Erie and Huron counties. "Clubs are safe, fun places for kids and teens to go after school with a focus on academic success; health and wellness; character and leadership; and life and workforce readiness," according to an organizational statement. "Members receive a free daily meal and help from caring adult mentors." There is no charge to join. The fall program starts Sept. 2 for all clubs except Sandusky's Regional Center for Arts and Academic Studies, which will open Sept 8. Clubs provide a benefit to communities and families. "An Ohio University study showed Ohio communities receive $12.25 in economic and social benefits for every dollar invested in Boys & Girls Clubs," the statement read. "Parents can work longer with the knowledge that their children have a safe place to go after school." Local sites are located in the following spots: Erie County • Sandusky Teen Center, 2112 Cleveland Road (U.S. 6), Sandusky • The Regional Center for Arts & Academic Studies, 125 E. Adams St., Sandusky Huron County • New London Schools, 1 Wildcat Drive, New London • Norwalk Middle School, 64 Christie Ave., Norwalk Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Ohio was formed in 2019 by the merger of clubs in Cleveland, Akron, Lorain County and Sandusky.
