'Guys & Dolls' hits the stage

NORWALK — Get ready for laughs, love and big bets as local actors light up the stage this weekend. The Norwalk Arts Center announced its highly anticipated summer production of "Guys & Dolls," lighting up the stage this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at its venue, 22 E. Main St. Audiences are invited to experience the charm, wit and toe-tapping tunes of this beloved Broadway classic, brought to life by a talented local cast, a release from the theater states. "Get ready for a night of laughs, love, and high-stakes hijinks as this Broadway classic comes to life with the energy and talent of our incredible local cast," the release states. Set in the bustling streets of 1950s New York City, "Guys & Dolls" follows small-time gambler Nathan Detroit as he tries to set up the city's biggest craps game — while dodging the police and placating his fiancée of 14 years, Miss Adelaide. Meanwhile, high-roller Sky Masterson takes a risky bet that he can woo the straight-laced missionary Sarah Brown, leading to unexpected — and hilarious — consequences.
