Travel back in time with Thomas Edison

MILAN — Those affiliated with the Edison Birthplace Association welcome people to attend a special event. Through an event statement, here's what people can expect: When/Where: The "one-of-a-kind cinematic adventure" takes place from 7-9 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8 at Milan Town Hall, 1518 Ohio 113 E., Milan, in Milan Town Square. What: "Step into the enchanting world of vintage cinema at Night at the Movies with Mr. Edison. Enjoy a captivating evening featuring rare and fascinating short films from Edison Studios, the world's very first movie studio." Who: "Your guide through the night will be none other than Thomas Edison himself, brought to life by a talented historical impersonator, who will host the screening and answer your curious questions during a special live (question-and-answer session. It's) perfect for film enthusiasts, history buffs and families alike." More: Event highlights include the following: • An auction, in which people can take home a piece of local history with recently replaced Milan light pole banners • A raffle in which people can win unique themed prizes celebrating the magic of movies • An interactive photo booth in which people can take pictures with vintage-themed props and backgrounds • Refreshments and popcorn.
