PORT CLINTON — The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council will present Sandusky-based artist Marsha Gray Carrington's new exhibit, "Lost in Abstraction," at The Arts Garage throughout August. In what will be Carrington's second show at The Arts Garage, she will be exhibiting a collection of mixed-media paintings. "She has been exploring abstract work for the past five years and enjoys the spontaneity and freeness it brings her," according to an event statement. "She has no plan when she begins a piece, and the colors and marks she makes take her on a creative journey which reveals the work as she goes." Inspired by her mother, an accomplished painter, "Carrington never questioned what she would be when she grew up: an artist," it continued. "She has made her living creatively all of her adult life and continues to create fine art through various mediums, such as painting, graphics and photography." People can attend an artist reception from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 8 at The Arts Garage, 317 W. Perry St., Port Clinton. Attendees can meet Carrington and learn more about her process and motivations. Meanwhile the entire exhibit and her artwork will be available for viewing from August 4-31. The Arts Garage is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays. People can visit gpcaac.org for more information.
