HURON • Huron Schools' board and parent-teacher organization members represented the district at the 2025 River Fest event MARGARETTA • Margaretta Schools honored retirees who finished their careers within the district and others. — Carol Brisker, bus driver, 35 years — Tranette Novak, speech/literacy supervisor, 17 years — Pam Solze, office aide, 53 years; Solze is a member in Margaretta's achievement hall of fame — Bonnie Preston, secretary, 53 years; Preston is a member in Margaretta's achievement hall of fame The district also honored former employees who retired but not from Margaretta Schools: — Joy Hassen, intervention specialist — Gary Quisno, math teacher — Jeff Keck, business teacher Quisno and Keck are continuing their connection to the district as head and assistant football coach, respectively. • The Berlin-Milan Library Bookmobile drove through Castalia. The van will stop by again from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 4 and Aug. 18 BELLEVUE • Belleuve Schools has provided free meals to youth 18 and under thanks to the support received from the United States Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service Program. For eight weeks, the district's food service team made and gave out more than 600 meals every Monday. The district thanked food service director Jacqueline Hess and Raygan Moffitt, Jennifer Hensley and Nikki Murphy for their support. Ann Manner also helped by organizing family sign-ups and distributing each week. EHOVE CAREER CENTER • EHOVE Career Center's adult cosmetology hosted a Prince and Princess Party. Kids came dressed in formal princess dresses to get their nails done. EDISON • Edison Schools' Ilah Reynolds was selected to participate in the Yale Young Global Scholars Program. She was one out of 80 students chosen to speak at the program. She presented a project she created in Chris Ceccoli's class on the topic of talent and passion. Reynolds spoke to a crowd of international students, college leaders and Yale faculty. Reynolds also participated in the program's talent show where she read "Human Family" by Maya Angelou. SANDUSKY • Sandusky's girls' track and field helped motivate participants of the Ironman 70.3 Ohio. SANDUSKY CENTRAL CATHOLIC SCHOOL • Sandusky Central Catholic School students went Bowling with Mrs. Michel. The night was a prize from the school's spring auction. The Wensink family made the donation, and Grace Michel donated her time to bowl and play laser tag with the seventh-grade students. NORWALK CATHOLIC SCHOOL • The Flyer Clubhouse took a field trip to The Watering Can and Back to the Wild. The Watering Can is owned by school alumna, Caitlyn Corrigan. The kids toured the facility's flower fields, completed a scavenger hunt and brought home a decorated flower pot. The students' next stop to Back to the Wild allowed them to discover wildlife rehabilitation and see how the organization helps injured animals.
