Norwalk man charged with rape

MILAN — A Norwalk man was recently arrested for allegedly raping a teenage girl inside a home that they both resided in. On July 16, Zachery C. Foster, 21, 900 block Ohio 61, was arrested by the Erie County Sheriff's Office following a warrant after being indicted by an Erie County grand jury on March 27 on one count of rape, a first-degree felony. Background On May 22, 2024, the Erie County Sheriff's Office received a call from a woman who stated that she and the teenage girl were arguing when she had told her she was allegedly sexually assaulted by Foster inside the home located in the 13000 block of Wikel Road. Once at the residence, a deputy began speaking with the girl, who allegedly told the deputy that the incident occurred on or about Dec. 1 to Dec. 2, 2023, according to an Erie County sheriff's report. The girl allegedly told the deputy that she and Foster were inside the basement of the home when Foster allegedly made comments about her body and that he wanted to touch her. The girl stated that when she told Foster "no," he allegedly went upstairs for a short time before coming back to the basement and sexually assaulting her, the report states. At the time the report was filed in 2024, Foster was incarcerated at the Seneca County Jail for a probation violation, according to court records. As of late Tuesday, Foster remains inside the Erie County Jail on a $45,000 bond. He has an upcoming court hearing scheduled for 1:30 p.m. on July 31, according to jail records.
