Bellevue's City Hall getting major upgrades

BELLEVUE — Bellevue officials announced that renovations made to City Hall are currently underway. Mayor Kevin Strecker stated that the upgrades are part of a five-year plan to repair the roof, restore the parking lot and make other cosmetic improvements to Bellevue City Hall at 3000 Seneca Industrial Parkway, including: • Construction of a new parking lot on the east side of the building • Fresh paint on the outside of the building, as well as inside all office spaces • A new 50-foot flagpole • A lighted sign for City Hall • A utility bill payment box that moved • New flooring is being installed inside all city offices, meeting rooms and city council chambers "These upgrades have been warranted," Strecker said. "The old paint and wallpaper were from the existing tenant and needed to be updated." Strecker stated that since the building has been paid off, the funds will be used to upgrade and renovate the offices, and that all funds are being allocated from the city's general fund. "Everyone wants to be proud of the place they live or work. Here, we need to sell our community, and you cannot do that in an outdated building," Strecker said.
