Award recognizes 'outstanding representative'

SANDUSKY — The Erie County Health Department recently announced Eliot Dyer — program manager in the grants, marketing and quality assurance division — as its employee of the month for July. Dyer joined the health department in December 2022 as a public health educator and then, a year later, received a promotion to program manager. Currently, he manages and plays a vital role in several grants overseen by the department. This would include grants for tobacco use prevention and cessation along with an initiative for safe communities. His responsibilities also include coordinating community events for the agency and leading the department's monthly food pantry on Kelleys Island. Additionally, he can often be spotted behind the wheel of the department's mobile health vehicle, "actively assisting in bringing essential services directly to the community," according to an agency statement. "Eliot Dyer consistently demonstrates an exceptional commitment to public health and community engagement," said Steve Staley, the department's chief of grants, marketing and quality assurance. "His dedication to managing critical grants and his hands-on involvement in community initiatives, like the Kelleys Island food pantry and operating our mobile health vehicle, truly exemplify the spirit of service we value," Staley added. "Eliot is an outstanding representative of our agency, fostering strong connections within the community and making a real difference in the lives of the people we serve."
