Toft Dairy celebrating 125 years in business

SANDUSKY — Toft Dairy, Ohio's oldest dairy, is hosting a 125th anniversary bash from 2-8 p.m. on Saturday. The community, meanwhile, is invited to attend this celebration at its Sandusky-based headquarters: 3717 Venice Road (U.S. 6) The event will kick off with a groundbreaking ceremony at 2:30 p.m. for its freezer expansion. Headquartered on Venice Road (U.S. 6) in Sandusky. Toft's opened for business back in 1900. Currently, the fourth and fifth generations of the Toft family run the operation. Toft's is known for its wide range of ice cream flavors, presently selling more than 50 different kinds. The business also sells a range of dairy products, including milk, cottage cheese and sour cream. "For five generations, Toft Dairy has proudly delivered fresh, quality dairy products from local farms to your table," said Crystal Meisler, Toft Dairy's marketing director. "We're thrilled to celebrate 125 years with the community that has supported us every step of the way," Meisler said. "This event is a chance to honor our history, thank our loyal customers and share our excitement for the future. Thank you for being part of the Toft's family." Event highlights The highlight of this year's anniversary bash is an ice cream-eating contest taking place at 3:30 p.m. in which the winner receives a year's worth of ice cream. There is something for everyone at the bash, including food trucks from the Cameo Pizza Truck, The Gaucho & The Gringa and Kansha Hibachi Express. There will be plenty of activities for kids, such as bounce houses provided by Inflatable Party Rentals, games, crafts and a meet-and-greet session with Toft Dairy's mascot, Tilly the Cow. JK RAZZ is performing live from 3-7 p.m., and WCPZ-FM (Mix) 102.7 will be broadcasting live from 2-4 p.m. The first 100 people to arrive at the event will get a free collectible Mason cup upgrade with their ice cream purchase.
