Who will become Cold Creek's queen?

CASTALIA — Four young ladies all want one prestigious title. This year, a quartet of candidates — all Margaretta High School students — seeks to become this year's Castalia Cold Creek Celebration's queen. The queen's contest will take place at 5:15 p.m. on Friday at the festival's main stage, 101 Main St. It helps to kick off the three-day event, which goes through Sunday. The festival committee provided a brief bio about each candidate, which included each person answering how they would best represent themselves and their community if chosen as queen: Carmella Fitzthum Carmella is an incoming junior at Margaretta High School. Her parents are Brandy and Anthony Fitzthum. Carmella is involved in cheerleading, track and at her church: Sts. Peter and Paul. "I would represent the Cold Creek Celebration if chosen as queen by supporting the local businesses, celebrating what makes our town special, helping with the community and getting everyone together to just have fun at the celebration." Gracie Lee Gracie is an incoming senior at Margaretta High School. Her parent is Kasandra Garcia. Gracie is involved in the youth group at her local church, National Honor Society, Sources of Strength and OHgo. In her free time, she volunteers at the school library and is a part of the Margaretta music department, participating in dinner theater. "If I were chosen as queen, I would represent the community of Castalia by continuing to be a person to promote kindness and support my community. Being queen is more than just the title to me: I get to play a role in celebrating our village." Lillian Scott Lilly is an incoming senior at Margaretta High School. Her parent is Kyle Scott. Lilly is involved in FFA where she is an officer, National Honor Society, a wrestling mat maid, Ruritan in which she is the current president, the Varsity M Club and her church youth group. "I will represent the Cold Creek Celebration as queen by going to many fairs and events, more than required, creating positive and beneficial ideas and problem-solving. I will also post positively and spread awareness of Castalia and the court." Remi Wiedenheft Remi is an incoming senior at Margaretta High School. Her parent is Steve Wiedenheft. Remi is involved in cheerleading, golf, National Honor Society, student government, FFA and her local youth group. "I would represent the Cold Creek Celebration by attending festivals and parades while wearing the queen's sash. At the festivals and parades, I would spread positivity and the Castalia charm."
