Foundation spotlights top student-athletes

BELLEVUE — A local foundation recognized two 2025 graduates for their on- and off-the-field achievements. "Congratulations to Brooke Brown and Tyson Baptista," according to the Bellevue Hospital Foundation. Both Brown and Baptista graduated from Bellevue High School. "The Bellevue Hospital Foundation recently honored Bellevue High School's top female and male athletes with our annual athletic achievement awards, formerly known as the Gazette Awards," according to a foundation statement, noting how the foundation has sponsored these awards since 2017. "Not only are they stars on the field, both Brooke and Tyson graduated in the top 10 of their class," the statement read. Regarding each recipient: • "Brooke Brown earned 11 varsity letters in volleyball, basketball and track and field. She's the daughter of Laura and B.J. Brown and will be heading to the University of Findlay this fall to study pre-occupational therapy." • "Tyson Baptista earned eight varsity letters in golf, baseball and basketball. The son of Scott and Aimee Baptista, Tyson will attend the University of Toledo to pursue a degree in chemical engineering." Dennis Sabo, the foundation's director, who personally delivered these awards to both students, said, "We celebrate their accomplishments both in athletics and in the classroom."
