UPDATE: Traffic moving again on Edison Bridge

Update: 1:20 p.m. Traffic is again moving on Ohio 2 near Ohio 269, albeit slowly. "Ohio 2/Edison Bridge traffic is now flowing again in one lane; however is still backed up," according to the Erie County Sheriff's Office. "Motorists are still urged to utilize caution if traveling in the area of Edison Bridge (in either direction)." Original post 12:30 p.m. MARGARETTA TWP. — For the second time this week, a multi-car crash is affecting traffic on the Edison Memorial Bridge. Traffic is at a standstill in the eastbound lanes of the bridge due to a multi-car pileup, according to numerous social media posts. "There is another multi-vehicle crash on (Ohio) 2, by the Edison bridge, eastbound lanes," said Dawn Armstrong. "Avoid the area if you can." "Just passed the accident," said Dan Nitecki. "(It) looked like a convertible rear-ended a pickup and ended up partially underneath." Ohio 2 eastbound is closed at the bridge, according to OHGO, the Ohio Department of Transportation's highway conditions application. "Due to a multi-vehicle accident at (Ohio 2 eastbound) at Edison Bridge, traffic will be very slow moving in one lane going eastbound, and westbound traffic will also be very slow moving," according to a release from the Erie County Sheriff's Office. The bridge was the site of a seven-car crash on Tuesday. Traffic came to a standstill for more than two hours as victims were evacuated by EMS and the scene was cleaned.
