Events schedule for Ironman

SANDUSKY — Sandusky's Ironman 70.3 Ohio is nearly back. The now-annual event returns, and with it hundreds of athletes who will participate in the swimming, biking and running courses this Sunday. Here is a breakdown of Ironman events listed on a day-by-day basis: Friday • 2-7 p.m. — Athlete check-ins at the Jackson Street Pier, 233 W. Shoreline Drive • 2-7 p.m. — Ironman village is open at the Jackson Street Pier; The village includes an information tent, bike store and tech service. An official Ironman store is also open. • 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. — Two athlete briefings will be hosted at these times at the Jackson Street Pier. Saturday • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Athlete check-ins at the Jackson Street Pier; AWA priority check-in ends at noon. • 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Ironman Village open at the Jackson Street Pier; The village includes an information tent, bike store and tech service. An official Ironman store is also open. • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. — A mandatory bike and gear check-in at the Paper District Marina, 611 W. Shoreline Drive. • 10 a.m., noon and 2 p.m. — Three athlete briefings will be hosted at these times at the Jackson Street Pier. Sunday — Race day • 5-6:15 a.m. — Transition opens at the Paper District Marina • 6:30 a.m. — Race starts with the swimming portion at the Jackson Street Pier • 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Ironman village is open at the Jackson Street Pier; The village includes an information tent. An official Ironman store is also open. • 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Post-race food for athletes is available at the Jackson Street Pier • 1-4 p.m. — A mandatory bike and gear bag checkout will be hosted at the Paper District Marina. • 4 p.m. — The race awards ceremony and 2026 Ironman 70.3 World Championship slot allocation/rolldown will take place at the Jackson Street Pier. Slot allocation begins immediately following awards — organizers encourage participants to arrive early — and racers must be present to claim their slots.
