RECURRING EVENTS Sandusky • After School Snacks: From 4-4:45 p.m. every weekday, the Sandusky Library will host snacktime for anyone under 18. Want to work out in a cozy, non-gym environment? Stop by the art studio to try pole dancing, aerial silks, a balance beam or any other fitness equipment in a non-class structured fashion. An instructor will be on site for safety assurances and to answer questions. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign a waiver. Cost to attend is $5. This weekly event is sponsored by the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and are free of charge. This week's performers will be the North Coast Concert Band. Bring your own seating. • Sit and Stitch: Beginning at 1 p.m., at the Erie County Senior Center, located at 620 E. Water Street. Do you crochet, knit or embroider? Bring your project and socialize with other stitcher while you make new friends. Open to anyone of all ages who wants to come learn. Registration is not required. • Sandusky Sunset Celebrations: From 8:20 -9:30 p.m., every Wednesday at Jackson Street Pier. This pilot program is more of a vibe than an event. Its an open invitation to all to gather at the water's edge and take in the beautiful lake view as the sun sets. Each week will feature a new musical act or performer to help set the mood. No registration is required and there is no cost to attend. • Breakfast Buddies: From 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., every Thursday, at the Campbell Christian Community Center, located at 1215 Campbell Street. Enjoy a free morning made just for parents, grandparents and their preschool or younger little ones. Each week features a fun theme with breakfast, fun crafts, hands-on activities, interactive storytimes, and free diapers and wipes to take home. There is no cost to attend. • Toddler Day: From noon to 4 p.m. every Thursday, Ghostly Manor Thrill Center, 3319 Milan Road, will offer free admission to its\ skate and play areas for children 5 and under. In the summertime, every Thursday, a large group gathers in downtown Sandusky for a leisurely bicycle ride around the city. All levels of riders are encouraged to attend. Enjoy this Sandusky Summer concert staple every week. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating and enjoy this weekly event. Party at the Pier is a program of the Greater Sandusky Partnership and is always free to attend. This weeks featured performer will be The Pack Drumline, sponsored by The Lange Trust of the Sandusky Library. • General Trivia: From 7-9 p.m. on Fridays, the Sandusky Book Bar, 2101 W. Perkins Ave., will host all-ages trivia. Visit sanduskybookbar.com for more information. • Remember Crusin' Car Show: Beginning at 6 p.m., on select Fridays during the Summer, in the 400 block of Columbus Ave. All vehicles welcome. No cost to attend, but there is a registration fee for those wishing to enter a vehicle. The show is presented by the Crusin' Car Club of Northern Ohio. Fall victim to Pier Pressure with your community and trainers from local fitness centers for a FREE community workout every Saturday morning at 8 a.m., from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Participants will learn proper stretching, outdoor exercises and can walk or run at their own pace in downtown Sandusky along the various piers overlooking Sandusky Bay and Lake Erie. Open to all ages, but please leave your furry friends at home. Workouts will vary each week depending on fitness center and instructor assigned to each morning. Perkins Avenue, Unit A. This wellness event features a full body stretch session and guided breathing exercises, while teaching the importance of simple daily practices that help optimize physical and mental health. Great for people of all fitness levels and experiences. Cost to attend is $5 and there is no pre-registration required. Experience electrifying nights with LED lights, lasers and high energy dance music spun by a live DJ. Dress in your favorite neon or glow-in-the-dark apparel. Jump passes start at $15, but there is no additional ticket cost to attend the Glow Party. Put in Bay • Wild Tuesdays: From 1 – 3 p.m., every Tuesday, at Lake Erie Islands Nature & Wildlife Center, located at 255 Meechen Road. Come out to the beautiful nature center and enjoy hands-on education about nature, wildlife and animals at Put-in-Bay. This event is free and no registration is required. Port Clinton • Apricot Fest: From 11 a.m. – 10 p.m., on Saturday and 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., on Sunday, at Twin Oast Brewery, located at 3630 N.E. Catawba Road. Get ready for a weekend of live music, craft beer, good eats, and fun for the family. Apricot Fest will feature two days of live music, local vendors, food trucks and sun-soaked fun on the lawn. General admission is $8 Pre-Sale or $10 the day of, ages 3 and under are free. • Slater's Famous Jazz Night: Every Wednesday from 6:30-9:30 p.m., Slater's Food and Spirits, 1634 E. Huron • Huron River Fest: From 5 – 10 p.m., Friday and 7 a.m. - 10 p.m., Saturday, at the Huron Boat Basin and Amphitheater, located at 330 N. Main Street. The Huron River Fest is back this year with amazing entertainment, a 5k race and fun run, pets on the pier, Queen's competition, a variety of unique vendors, a road show, the wonderful parade, fantastic fireworks, and much more. Don't miss this Huron tradition of Summertime fun. • Mustard Mondays: From 10-11 a.m., at Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve and State Nature Preserve, located at 2514 Cleveland Road E. Help Stewardship staff remove invasive garlic mustard to help allow native plant species to grow and thrive. All gear provided, dress for the weather and meet at the visitor center. • Osborn MetroPark parkrun: Parkrun is a timed 5K walk/jog/run happening every Saturday at 9 a.m. at Osborn MetroPark, 3910 Perkins Ave. The event is free and open to all ages; people are welcome to bring their strollers or dogs. Registration is required and can be done at parkrun.us/register/. • Family Storytime: Every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., the Huron Public Library, 333 Williams St., will host storytime with Miss Melissa. Milan • Preschool Storytime: From 10:30-11 a.m. on Fridays, the Milan Public Library, 19 E. Vermilion • Market in the Park: From 10 a.m – 2 p.m., every Saturday in the heart of downtown Vermilion. Every week features new vendors and new products to keep you coming back all summer. There's plenty of free parking next to and near the market. Within easy walking distance are lots of shops and restaurants to enjoy and just a few blocks north is Main Street Beach, with a great view of Lake Erie. This weekly event is a wonderful place to gather with friends and neighbors, a shady stop on a bike tour, or just a fun place to hangout as you begin your weekend. Gibsonburg • Preschool Storytime: At 11 a.m., the Gibsonburg Birchard Public Library, 100 N. Webster St., will host storytime for children ages 3-5. Visit birchard.org for more information. THURSDAY Fremont • Jam Session / Open Mic: From 6 – 9 p.m., at the Fremont Community Amphitheater, located at 315 Garrison Street. SATURDAY Sandusky • Maritime Lecture Series: From 9 – 10 a.m., at the Maritime Museum, located at 125 Meigs Street. Join local author and historian Tom Adams for a captivating look into one of Lake Erie's greatest mysteries: the disappearance of the Marquette & Bessemer No. 2. Tom will share historical context, eyewitness accounts and modern theories that attempt to locate the ship's final resting place. Join The Maritime Museum of Sandusky for coffee & donuts in person, included with the admission of $8. There will be a book signing to follow. • 7/10 Midsummer Extravaganza: From 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., at The Hookah Connection, located at 220 W. Perkins Ave, Unit B. This Summer smokers' celebration of cannabis culture will feature live music and glass blowing, vendors and unbeatable deals on everything in the store. There will also be grab bag giveaways and a massive raffle drawing at 4:20 p.m. • British Invasion: Beginning at 7 p.m., at The Rockin' Ranch Saloon, located at 8315 Milan Road. The Firelands Community Cat Coalition invites you to travel back in time with The British Invasion, the electrifying tribute band that recreates the iconic sounds of the 1960s with stunning accuracy and energy. Featuring hits from The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who, The Kinks, The Animals, The Hollies, Herman's Hermits and many more. Whether you're a lifelong fan or discovering the magic for the first time, this is more than a concert, it's a full-blown musical time machine. General admission is $20. Huron • Ohio Prophecy Conference: From 9 a.m. – 5 p.m., at Sawmill Creek Resort, located at 400 Sawmill Creek Drive. Presented by the Norwalk Alliance Church, this first time event will feature guest speakers Jeff Kinley and Todd Hampson, host the Prophecy Pro Podcast on Youtube. This podcast has over 2 Million downloads and is heard in over 130 countries. Admission cost includes the conference, worship music, a boxed lunch with beverage, welcome packet, notepad & pen, and lanyard. Tickets are $45, all are welcome. Vermilion • Vettemillion: From 9 a.m. – 3 p.m., at Victory Park, located at Ohio and Exchange Streets. Enjoy Corvettes galore at the annual Vermilion Corvette show, presented by Lakeshore Corvette Club. There will also be a pancake, sponsored by the Vermilion Rotary from 8 – 11 a.m., at the Old Firehouse. There is no cost to attend the car show. • All Washed Up Art Contest: From 10 – 2 p.m., at Exchange Park, located on Liberty Avenue and Main Street. All Washed Up, Vermilion's Driftwood Art Contest is back for another season of fun and creativity. Entries are created primarily of driftwood and other washed up items collected from the shores of Lake Erie. Join as a participant or a guest. Embark on an adventure of discovery with "Curious Naturalist" Katie. Enjoy a guided stroll through Castalia Quarry where every step unveils new wonders of the natural world. Open to all ages, there is no registration required and no cost to attend. Norwalk • 21st Norwalk Area Garden Tour: From 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., at the Firelands Historical Society Complex, located at 4 Case Avenue. Featuring seven beautiful gardens of varying styles, this tour is held in collaboration with Huron County Master Gardeners. Stop for a quick lunch after touring Bill and Linda Miller's lovely garden. Grub Brothers food truck will be at Miller's Landscaping. Ticket holders are eligible to enter a drawing for Farmer Jones' hefty book and a framed story board about creating the book. Tickets are $10 and will be available at Schild's IGA in Norwalk, and at the Firelands Museum. Port Clinton • Soil to Sky Opening Reception: From 6 – 8 p.m., at the Arts Garage, located at 317 W. Perry Street. The Greater Port Clinton Area Arts Council is thrilled to be hosting three outstanding artists, Debra Sue Solecki, with cousins Scott and Derek Brennan, for their exhibit, "Soil to Sky," during the month of July. There is no admission fee, and the opening reception and artists will be around to meet and greet with attendees. SUNDAY Milan • Arts Fest: From noon – 5 p.m., at the Milan Museum, located at 10 Edison Dr. Let your imagination shine at the Arts Fest. Paint, draw, sketch and create with hands-on art stations. There will be a special kaleidoscope class at 12:30 p.m., with glass artist Sheree Ferrato, as well as museum tours and art activities for all ages. There is no cost for this day full of creativity and fun. • Mid Summer Antiques Fest: From 8 a.m. – 3 p.m., at Village Square. Browse and shop through more than 50 antique dealers. There will be furniture, primitives, jewelry, toys, holiday items, textiles, mid-century items and much more. The event is sponsored by Milan Chamber of Commerce and there is no cost to attend. WEDNESDAY Sandusky • LEA Anniversary Party: From 3 – 7 p.m., at Lake Erie Aesthetics & Wellness, located at 4404 Timber Commons Drive. Cheers to another beautiful year. Celebrate Lake Erie Aesthetics and Wellness's third anniversary with an afternoon of pampering, perks and appreciation for the community that's made it all possible.
