Large crash on Edison Bridge

Update, 4:21 p.m. The Ohio State Highway Patrol's Sandusky post said seven vehicles are involved in the crash. The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes. "The road will be closed for a while until we get the scene cleared up," the patrol said. It appeared traffic was backed up significantly; vehicles could be seen as far back as Ohio 53 on the northern half of the bridge. Original post 4:02 p.m. DANBURY TWP. — A large crash on the Edison Bridge is impacting traffic in both directions, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The eastbound lanes are closed and westbound lanes are "extremely slow" as a result of the multi-vehicle crash, according to Dispatcher Steinbrick of the Erie County Sheriff's Office. "Please avoid this area," Steinbrick wrote. The crash, which occurred a bit before 4 p.m., took place in the middle of the bridge and involved around six cars, according to Dispatcher Pravlik of the Sandusky patrol post.
