Counseling services promotes 2 workers

SANDUSKY — Bayshore Counseling Services recently announced the promotions for two workers: Annemarie Katz Annemarie Katz now serves as the executive director of Bayshore Counseling Services. Katz was hired in 1997 as a support supervisor. Over the course of her 28-year career with the agency, she has performed a multitude of duties, including as a billing administrator and in human resources. For the past eight years, she has served as the chief operating officer under the previous executive director, Henrietta Whelan, who recently retired. As the mother of a child affected by addiction, "Katz understands the true importance of access to behavioral health services and the invaluable work between counselor and client that can have a significant impact, making a difference in the lives of others," according to an organizational statement. Dr. Melissa Fowler Dr. Melissa Fowler now serves as the director of clinical services. Fowler has a: • Doctor of philosophy degree in counseling and psychological services from Regent University • Master of education degree in mental health counseling from Kent State University Fowler has been employed with Bayshore Counseling Services since 2014. She has extensive experience as a behavioral health therapist, supporting clients with a wide range of mental health and substance use challenges over the years. For the past three years, she has served as a clinical supervisor at Bayshore Counseling Services, providing guidance and oversight to clinical staff. "Fowler is proud to continue her dedicated service to the (counties and communities of Erie and Ottawa), fostering accessible and compassionate care," the statement read.
