Cleveland ballet returns for encore performance

VERMILION — The Cleveland Ballet returns to Vermilion's historic Harbourtown Fine Arts Center on Saturday, July 26 for its annual summer performance, "Encore." The events begin at 6 p.m. with an intimate reception inside the opera house with a variety of hors d'oeuvres, wines and beverages. The outdoor performance will begin at 7 p.m. on the lawn. Patrons will enjoy a selection of classical performances inspired by Pablo Picasso's connection to dance, including excerpts from Don Quixote and Paquita, to highlight the legendary artist's connection to Ballets Russes and his home country, Spain. Additionally, the Cleveland Ballet will present the whimsical pas de deux "Harlequinade," bringing Picasso's famous Harlequin paintings to life, reflecting the energy, colors and emotions through movement. "What Do We Do Now" is a piece created by Cleveland Ballet artist Katharine Cowan and was featured at the company's ChoreoLab program. "We are absolutely thrilled to welcome Cleveland Ballet back to Vermilion for another unforgettable evening," said Harbourtown's president, Jim Chapple, who is also the educational impact coordinator for Cleveland Ballet. "It's always a joy to see the community come together to experience world class ballet in such a charming setting, right here in our own backyard," Chapple said. A variety of tickets are available for purchase, including a family pack, VIP seating, general admission and tickets for children under 10. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis.
