PAYNE NICKLES & CO. • Two Edison Schools graduates were awarded scholarship dollars from Payne Nickles & Co. Reagan King and Max Hermes, an upcoming senior and junior at their colleges, respectively, were both awarded $2,000 from the accounting firm's Todd Spore, CPA Memorial Scholarship. SANDUSKY • Sandusky girls' basketball played at Ohio State during a shootout event. EDISON • Edison students participated in a summer camp. The kids reviewed skills from the school year, spent the morning at Milan Public Library, read a story with teacher Rhonda Geason and her therapy dog, Stanley and tie-dyed beach towels. PORT CLINTON • Port Clinton School congratulated students Sophia DiMario and Nora Pixler and high school Educators Rising advisor Joe Miller for being in the top ten in the nation. VANGUARD-SENTINEL CAREER AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER • Vanguard-Sentinel Career and Technology Centers congratulated Port Clinton Schools' Alexis Hensley for being named the 2025 National SkillsUSA Champion in building maintenance. Hensley attends the career center's STEP Program. NORWALK CATHOLIC • Norwalk Catholic students participated in the summer clubhouse's kickoff. Each week of the clubhouse students participate in themed activities. So far, they have made crafts, visited a local ice cream and coffee shop, learned culinary skills, went to the zoo and played outside. EHOVE • A group of EHOVE Career Center's adult education cosmetology students traveled to Atlanta, Georgia, to compete in the SkillsUSA National Competition. NORTH POINT EDUCATIONAL SERVICE CENTER • North Point Educational Service Center celebrated local school district employees with the first Compass of Excellence Recognition Breakfast. All Compass of Excellence Award winners were congratulated for their dedication, passion and commitment to students, schools and communities.
