Want to work out in a cozy, non-gym environment? Stop by the art studio to try pole dancing, aerial silks, a balance beam or any other fitness equipment in a non-class structured fashion. An instructor will be on site for safety assurances and to answer questions. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign a waiver. Cost to attend is $5. Bring your own seating. • Sit and Stitch: Beginning at 1 p.m., at the Erie County Senior Center, located at 620 E. Water Street. Do you crochet, knit or embroider? Bring your project and socialize with other stitcher while you make new friends. Open to anyone of all ages who wants to come learn. Registration is not required. • Sandusky Sunset Celebrations: From 8:20 -9:30 p.m., every Wednesday at Jackson Street Pier. This pilot program is more of a vibe than an event. Its an open invitation to all to gather at the water's edge and take in the beautiful lake view as the sun sets. Each week will feature a new musical act or performer to help set the mood. No registration is required and there is no cost to attend. • Breakfast Buddies: From 9:30 – 10:30 a.m., every Thursday, at the Campbell Christian Community Center, located at 1215 Campbell Street. Enjoy a free morning made just for parents, grandparents and their preschool or younger little ones. Each week features a fun theme with breakfast, fun crafts, hands-on activities, interactive storytimes, and free diapers and wipes to take home. There is no cost to attend. • Toddler Day: From noon to 4 p.m. every Thursday, Ghostly Manor Thrill Center, 3319 Milan Road, will offer free admission to its\ skate and play areas for children 5 and under. In the summertime, every Thursday, a large group gathers in downtown Sandusky for a leisurely bicycle ride around the city. All levels of riders are encouraged to attend. Party at the Pier is a program of the Greater Sandusky Partnership and is always free to attend. Fall victim to Pier Pressure with your community and trainers from local fitness centers for a FREE community workout every Saturday morning at 8 a.m., from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Participants will learn proper stretching, outdoor exercises and can walk or run at their own pace in downtown Sandusky along the various piers overlooking Sandusky Bay and Lake Erie. Open to all ages, but please leave your furry friends at home. Workouts will vary each week depending on fitness center and instructor assigned to each morning. This wellness event features a full body stretch session and guided breathing exercises, while teaching the importance of simple daily practices that help optimize physical and mental health. Great for people of all fitness levels and experiences. Cost to attend is $5 and there is no pre-registration required. Experience electrifying nights with LED lights, lasers and high energy dance music spun by a live DJ. Dress in your favorite neon or glow-in-the-dark apparel. Jump passes start at $15, but there is no additional ticket cost to attend the Glow Party. Put in Bay • Wild Tuesdays: From 1 – 3 p.m., every Tuesday, at Lake Erie Islands Nature & Wildlife Center, located at 255 Meechen Road. Come out to the beautiful nature center and enjoy hands-on education about nature, wildlife and animals at Put-in-Bay. This event is free and no registration is required. Huron • Mustard Mondays: From 10-11 a.m., at Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve and State Nature Preserve, located at 2514 Cleveland Road E. Help Stewardship staff remove invasive garlic mustard to help allow native plant species to grow and thrive. All gear provided, dress for the weather and meet at the visitor center. • Osborn MetroPark parkrun: Parkrun is a timed 5K walk/jog/run happening every Saturday at 9 a.m. at Osborn MetroPark, 3910 Perkins Ave. The event is free and open to all ages; people are welcome to bring their strollers or dogs. Registration is required and can be done at parkrun.us/register/. • Family Storytime: Every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., the Huron Public Library, 333 Williams St., will host storytime with Miss Melissa. Enjoy a classic car show with upwards of 150 cars on display, with music, door prizes, and great family fun. The event is, presented by the Milan Chamber of Commerce and there is no charge to attend. Vermilion • Market in the Park: From 10 a.m – 2 p.m., every Saturday in the heart of downtown Vermilion. Every week features new vendors and new products to keep you coming back all summer. There's plenty of free parking next to and near the market. Within easy walking distance are lots of shops and restaurants to enjoy and just a few blocks north is Main Street Beach, with a great view of Lake Erie. This weekly event is a wonderful place to gather with friends and neighbors, a shady stop on a bike tour, or just a fun place to hangout as you begin your weekend. Gibsonburg • Preschool Storytime: At 11 a.m., the Gibsonburg Birchard Public Library, 100 N. Webster St., will host storytime for children ages 3-5. Visit birchard.org for more information. Fremont • Family Storytime: 6:30 p.m. on Thursdays at the Birchard Public Library. Enjoy stories, songs and fun for the whole family. THURSDAY Oak Harbor • Independence Day Celebration: From 5 – 11 p.m., in downtown Oak Harbor. Festivities begin with food vendors, entertainment, the royal duck race, 50/50 drawings, glow necklaces and refreshments. The night would not be complete without the sky being illuminated with the most spectacular fireworks display around. Come out and join for a night of family fun. There is no admission or parking costs. FRIDAY Sandusky • Boy with the Boot Walk/Run: Beginning at 9 a.m., in downtown Sandusky at 100 W. Washington Street. The 8th annual Boy in the Boot 5K is back as part of the 2025 RUNDUSKY race series. This year's route will start and finish at the Boy with the Boot statue in historic Washington Park. The course will utilize the waterfront Sandusky Bay Pathway for over half of the 3.1 miles. There is a $28 registration fee includes a dri-fit t-shirt and medal. • Stars & Stripes Celebration: From 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., in Washington Park. Celebrate Independence Day the Sandusky way with the annual festival in downtown. Following the 5k, there will be music at the gazebo, the children's bicycle parade, vendors and more. There is no cost to attend. • Light Up the Light: Beginning at 7:30 p.m., at Jackson Street Pier, located at 221 W. Shoreline Drive. The Firelands Symphony Orchestra returns to the shore free patriotic pops concert in celebration of Independence Day. This family-friendly event will feature the full orchestra performing a variety of patriotic and summer favorites. Stay after the concert concludes to watch the fireworks from nearby Cedar Point as they light up the lake. Please bring a chair or blanket. This event is free with funding from Albert G. & Olive H. Schlink Foundation and Wightman-Wieber Charitable Foundation. Fremont • Independence Day Concert: From 2 – 3:30 p.m. at Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Library & Museums, located at Spiegel Grove. Celebrate Independence Day with this patriotic concert by the Toledo Concert Band, featuring members of the Toledo Symphony, played on the verandah of the historic Hayes Home. The band will play a variety of music, and Civil War reenactors will fire cannons in sync with Tchaikovsky's "1812 Overture." Concert-goers are asked to bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. Food trucks will sell snacks and lunch on-site. Admission is free, made possible by sponsors Hal & Diane Hawk, Crown Battery and the Ohio Arts Council. SATURDAY Sandusky • Metal Mayhem: Beginning at 7 p.m., at Halo Live, located at 805 Wayne Street. Enjoy the original heavy sounds of Ill Anatomy, Mentally Distrakted and Yellow Fever. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at halolive.us or at the door. Bellevue • Butter Making Workshop: From 10 – 11:30 a.m., at Cherry City Honey Farms, located at 1000 CR 312. Join Paddle Bar for the 3rd annual Shoreline Seafood and Songs Street Fest. Featuring the food trucks EnRoll, The Naughty Lobstah and bRaised in the CLE dishing out tasty eats. There will also be live music all day with Island Trio & Alex Dominish. No cost to attend. Lakeside • History of Heritage Hall and the Lakeside United Methodist Church: From 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., at 122 W. 2nd St. Join Lakeside Heritage Society with Tom Campbell and Gretchen Curtis, as they review the 150-year history of the Lakeside United Methodist congregation, which played an essential role in creating Lakeside's community, contributing to Methodism in Ohio, and providing support for world-wide Methodist missions.
