Museum hosting free classic rock concert

CLYDE — A classic rock music group, Columbus-based Marquis66, will perform a free concert from 6-8:30 p.m. on Friday, July 18 at the Clyde Museum, 124 W. Buckeye St., Clyde. "It will be a rocking night of oldies and classic rock music performed on the lawn of the museum," according to an event statement. "Bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating on the front lawn or place a lawn chair for seating on West Buckeye Street, as the street will be closed for the concert that evening." Museum officials noted this is a community event open to the general public. Donations to the museum are encouraged but are not required, employees said. A food truck will be on-site selling hot food and cold drinks. "The concert will start at exactly 6 p.m., so plan to come early to find a good seat," the statement read. Parking will be available in the alleyway lots behind the museum. Commuters should enter from Forest Street. There will also be on-street parking on Main Street, the downtown plaza on Railroad Street and the parking lot at the Edward Jones financial offices on the corner of West Buckeye and George streets. The concert is sponsored by the Clyde Heritage League of Clyde, Ohio and the city of Clyde. If there is inclement weather, then the concert will be moved inside to the museum's Hurd Room.
