Go on a Green Bike Tour

VERMILION — The Ohio Coastal Training Program is teaming up with the Erie Conservation District to bring its annual Green Bike Tour to the city of Vermilion. "This tour is a free event open to anyone interested in learning about all the innovative stormwater and sustainability solutions in Vermilion, including recent updates to Main Street Beach & Park." Registration is not required, but it is strongly encouraged. People can visit Facebook and then, for more information visit facebook.com/owcnerr and search for a post titled "Green Bike Tour: Vermilion." The two-hour event begins at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 24 at Ritter Public Library, 5680 Liberty Ave. (U.S. 6), Vermilion, to "learn how green stormwater management practices are helping to minimize negative stormwater impacts in Lake Erie while enjoying a beautiful bike ride before sunset." People need to bring their own bicycles to participate in this event. "Riders are encouraged to bring their own water bottles, sunscreen and desired protective gear," the statement read.
