Calendar contest open to all

SANDUSKY — An upcoming community project offers a chance for individuals to showcase their artwork on a calendar. The Erie County Health Department/Erie County Community Health Center recently announced a new coloring contest open to all ages. To promote public health awareness through art, the health department has developed 12 unique, health-themed coloring sheets now available to the public. Participants are encouraged to color as many sheets as they desire. Winning entries will be included in the 2026 health department's/community health center's calendar. "Art can be a powerful tool for education and community building, and we look forward to seeing the wonderful submissions," Erie County health commissioner Pete Schade said. "This coloring contest is a fantastic opportunity for residents of all ages to express their creativity while engaging with important health messages." Entries will be judged by the health department marketing team with one winning design selected for each of the 12 calendar months. The final calendar will display a year's worth of community artwork centered on wellness and healthy living. "We are always looking for innovative ways to connect with our community and promote health and wellness," said Kristina Knight, the health department's grant writing and marketing supervisor. "This project is all about bringing the community together through a shared, creative experience," Knight added. This initiative "will truly be a product of our community's artistic talent, and we can't wait to share it with everyone." How to submit The deadline for all submissions is Aug. 1 Coloring sheets are available for pick up at the health department's main campus, 420 Superior St., Sandusky, or can be downloaded at eriecohealthohio.com/coloring-contest. There are three age groups: • Those 10 and younger • Those between 11 and 17 • Those 18 and older People can submit entries by dropping them off at the health department's main campus, 420 Superior St., Sandusky, or emailing them to marketing@echdohio.org. Make sure to include the artist's name and age group.
