Fun July planned at local library

MILAN — People can visit either branch that makes up the Milan-Berlin Library District in July "for a fun and exciting blend of patron-favorite regular programs," according to an organizational statement. This would include special interest events, like a: • Living history performance of a country music legend; Titled a Living History Portrayal of Loretta Lynn, it's scheduled from 6:30-7:30 p.m. on July 24 at Milan's library, 19 Church St., Milan. • Semiannual fountain pen enthusiast gathering where attendees can leave with a free beginner fountain pen; Titled Intro to Fountain Pens, it's scheduled from 6-8 p.m. at Milan. Registration is required. • Hands-on summer-reading-themed programming for attendees of all ages This year's summer reading program theme, Color Our World, "is perfect for those who love art and getting creative," according to a library statement. "In addition to art and crafting programs for patrons of all age groups, community members can also sign up for the annual community scavenger hunt, Masterpiece Mystery Scavenger Hunt," according to the statement. Note: The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on July 19. Registration is required by July 12. Participants can solve the mystery of who stole the library's beloved painting, Una Lisa.
