Unite on golf course for charitable cause

FREMONT — Celebrating its 11th year, the YMCA of Sandusky County recently announced this year's annual Y For All Golf Outing. Sycamore Hills Golf Club — 3728 Hayes Ave. (U.S. 6), Fremont — will host the outing on Friday, July 18. This outing will bring together community members for a day of fun, fellowship and fundraising in support of the YMCA's mission to make health and wellness accessible to all. Participants will enjoy a full day on the course, including lunch, dinner, beverage tickets and the opportunity to win $3,000 with a hole-in-one, according to a news release. Proceeds from the outing directly support the YMCA's financial assistance programs, which helped more than 2,100 individuals in 2024 alone. These funds help eliminate financial barriers for: • Childcare — This would include for preschool, summer and before- and after-school care. • Community health programs — This would include Livestrong for cancer survivors, Rock Steady Boxing for individuals with Parkinson's and diabetes prevention for pre-diabetic adults. • Life-saving swim lessons — This would include private and group lessons. Drowning is the No. 2 cause of accidental deaths among children. • Youth programs — This would include youth sports, martial arts and tumbling. • Memberships — This would include individuals, families or active older adults Foursomes can register by visiting ymcafremont.org, calling 419-332-9622 or stopping by in person at 1000 North St., Fremont.
