Vickery man sentenced for child pornography

FREMONT — A Vickery man was recently sentenced after previously pleading guilty to downloading and possessing child pornography. At a court hearing on June 23, Brandon D. Hausman, 32, of the 6900 block of County Road 249, was convicted on the following charges: • Six counts of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, each a fourth-degree felony • One amended count of pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person, a fourth-degree felony Hausman pleaded guilty to the seven charges on April 29 in exchange for the pandering sexually oriented matter involving a minor or impaired person charge, to be amended from a second-degree felony to a lesser charge of pandering obscenity involving a minor or impaired person, a fourth-degree felony. Sandusky County Common Pleas Court Judge Jeremiah Ray sentenced Hausman to serve roughly one-and-a-half years in prison, according to court records. Hausman also received credit for serving approximately seven months in jail, according to court records. Under the terms of his sentencing, Hausman is classified as a Tier 2 sex offender, which means that he must verify home and work addresses every six months for 25 years. Hausman will additionally be placed on a mandatory term of five years post-release control, according to court records. Background According to Hausman's indictment, the crimes occurred on or about Aug. 28, 2024, when he downloaded an image depicting an adult male having sexual intercourse with "a female infant," along with other pornographic videos and images. Hausman was arrested and booked into the Sandusky County Jail on Dec. 26.
