Meeting the officers: Sean Collins

PERKINS TWP. — Perkins police is continuing a process to shed some light on police officers serving the community. The series, published on Perkins police's Facebook page, kicked off in 2024. Most recently, it introduced Officer Sean Collins, who just completed his sixth full-time year with the force. A couple of fun facts: He's known for wearing his "dad" shoes, white New Balances, when not at work. He also loves spending time outside and is an Eagle Scout. Here's a question-and-answer session with Collins: Q: What are some of your favorite foods? SC: I love ribs and my wife's homemade chicken penne. For dessert, mint chocolate chip ice cream. Q: What are some of your hobbies? SC: I like to watch the Guardians, Browns and Cavs. When I am not working, you can usually find me spending time with my family. I also enjoy relaxing by watching movies and playing video games. Q: What is your favorite part of working at PPD? SC: Most of the time in law enforcement, you meet people during bad situations or when something wrong has happened to them. I like being able to help them deal with whatever they are going through and, hopefully, start having a better day once our interactions are done. Q: Are there any certain memories that stick out to you over your Perkins police career? SC: One day, I helped two people at the same business who locked themselves out of their vehicles, and while I was helping them, I locked myself out of my cruiser. Ever since then, I have carried two spare keys with me.
