RECURRING EVENTS Sandusky • After School Snacks: From 4-4:45 p.m. every weekday, the Sandusky Library will host snacktime for anyone under 18. Want to work out in a cozy, non-gym environment? Stop by the art studio to try pole dancing, aerial silks, a balance beam or any other fitness equipment in a non-class structured fashion. An instructor will be on site for safety assurances and to answer questions. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian present to sign a waiver. Cost to attend is $5. This weekly event is sponsored by the Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and are free of charge. This week's performers will be the North Coast Concert Band. Bring your own seating. • Sit and Stitch: Beginning at 1 p.m., at the Erie County Senior Center, located at 620 E. Water Street. Do you crochet, knit or embroider? Bring your project and socialize with other stitcher while you make new friends. Open to anyone of all ages who wants to come learn. Registration is not required. • Sandusky Sunset Celebrations: From 8:20 -9:30 p.m., every Wednesday at Jackson Street Pier. This pilot program is more of a vibe than an event. Its an open invitation to all to gather at the water's edge and take in the beautiful lake view as the sun sets. Each week will feature a new musical act or performer to help set the mood. No registration is required and there is no cost to attend. • Toddler Day: From noon to 4 p.m. every Thursday, Ghostly Manor Thrill Center, 3319 Milan Road, will offer free admission to its\ skate and play areas for children 5 and under. In the summertime, every Thursday, a large group gathers in downtown Sandusky for a leisurely bicycle ride around the city. All levels of riders are encouraged to attend. Enjoy this Sandusky Summer concert staple every Thursday. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own seating and enjoy this weekly event. Party at the Pier is a program of the Greater Sandusky Partnership and is always free to attend. No cost to attend, but there is a registration fee for those wishing to enter a vehicle. The show is presented by the Crusin' Car Club of Northern Ohio. Fall victim to Pier Pressure with your community and trainers from local fitness centers for a FREE community workout every Saturday morning at 8 a.m., from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Participants will learn proper stretching, outdoor exercises and can walk or run at their own pace in downtown Sandusky along the various piers overlooking Sandusky Bay and Lake Erie. Open to all ages, but please leave your furry friends at home. Workouts will vary each week depending on fitness center and instructor assigned to each morning. This wellness event features a full body stretch session and guided breathing exercises, while teaching the importance of simple daily practices that help optimize physical and mental health. Great for people of all fitness levels and experiences. Cost to attend is $5 and there is no pre-registration required. Experience electrifying nights with LED lights, lasers and high energy dance music spun by a live DJ. Dress in your favorite neon or glow-in-the-dark apparel. Jump passes start at $15, but there is no additional ticket cost to attend the Glow Party. Put in Bay • Wild Tuesdays: From 1 – 3 p.m., every Tuesday, at Lake Erie Islands Nature & Wildlife Center, located at 255 Meechen Road. Come out to the beautiful nature center and enjoy hands-on education about nature, wildlife and animals at Put-in-Bay. This event is free and no registration is required. • Pyrate Fest XVII - From 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., Friday June 27 - Sunday June 29, at DeRivera Park, located on Bayview Ave. Set sail for an unforgettable adventure at the annual pirate-themed extravaganza, sponsored by Shores and Islands Ohio. Engage in pirate antics, witness live cannon firings, and meet mermaids and legendary pirates. Discover a Pyrate encampment and marketplace, where the era of buccaneers comes to life. Enjoy interactive activities, treasure hunts, and historical demonstrations, all set against the beautiful backdrop of Put-in-Bay. With unique events each day, including a spirited Pyrate Pub Crawl for the adults and a captivating Antique Car Parade, Pyrate Fest XVII is an extraordinary journey into the heart of pirate lore, perfect for all ages. Huron • Mustard Mondays: From 10-11 a.m., at Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve and State Nature Preserve, located at 2514 Cleveland Road E. Help Stewardship staff remove invasive garlic mustard to help allow native plant species to grow and thrive. All gear provided, dress for the weather and meet at the visitor center. • Osborn MetroPark parkrun: Parkrun is a timed 5K walk/jog/run happening every Saturday at 9 a.m. at Osborn MetroPark, 3910 Perkins Ave. The event is free and open to all ages; people are welcome to bring their strollers or dogs. Registration is required and can be done at parkrun.us/register/. • Family Storytime: Every Tuesday at 6:30 p.m., the Huron Public Library, 333 Williams St., will host storytime with Miss Melissa. FRIDAY Sandusky • Superhero Party: Beginning at 4 p.m., at Adventure Play, located at 5500 Milan Road. Come adventure, jump and play dressed as your favorite superhero. Every costumed participant will get one snack from the concessions stand. Enter the costume contest (we'll post the entries on Instagram & Facebook the next day and online voting will be from June 28-July 3) and will let the public vote. The winner gets a $50 gift card. You must be a member or purchase a jump pass to participate. • Goodtime I Party Pride Cruise: From 7 – 10 p.m., departing from Jackson Street Pier. Drink, dance and celebrate equality while you sail Lake Erie. This party cruise is a part of the Shoreline Pride Sandusky Pride Month events and is open to anyone 21 years of age or older. Tickets are $30. SATURDAY Sandusky • Maritime Lecture Series: From at 9 – 10 a.m., at the Maritime Museum of Sandusky, located at 125 Meigs Street. Join Bob Speers for an informative lecture on climate change and it's impact on our local ecology. There will be coffee & donuts, whichh is included with Museum admission or free for members. You can also watch at home online. • Shoreline Pride Sandusky: Beginning at 11 a.m., at Shoreline Park, located at 411 E. Water Street. Celebrate equality at the the 2nd annual Shoreline Pride Sandusky festival. There will be a wonderful parade, with a gathering to follow at Shoreline Park featuring a DJ, kids' activities, a PRIDE costume/outfit contest, ice cream and more. • Carnage Fight Series #2: Beginning at 7 p.m., at TenFiftyEight, located at 1058 Cleveland Road West. Enjoy a night of mixed martial arts cage fights presented by Carnage Fight Series. The show will feature a mix of professional and amateur fights. Tickets are $30 GA and $75 VIP and available at the door. Huron • FSO Around the Town: Beginning at 4 p.m., at James H. McBride Arboretum, located at 1 University Drive. A highly talented ensemble founded by Tamara Kagy, comprised of members of the Firelands Symphony Orchestra, explores the standard and virtuoso flute repertoire that is so rich in giving voice to the flute. The members of the quartet own and perform on all the voices of the flute, giving the ensemble a rich texture and multifaceted color. The event is sponsored by the Erie County Community Foundation and Sam S. & Rose Stein Foundation so it is free to attend. Please bring a chair or blanket. • Huron Rotary Rocks: Beginning at 4 p.m. at Huron Boat Basin Amphitheater, located at 330 Main Street. This fun and local festival takes place along Huron's beautiful waterfront. There will be wonderful live entertainment, delicious food trucks, as well as a beer and wine garden. The kids can celebrate the fun in the kids alley with bounce houses, face painting, and carnival fun! Artists are encouraged to bring their unique goods to the festival and allow thousands of visitors to shop. SUNDAY Huron • Evening Hike with a Naturalist: From 6 –7 p.m., at Huron River Path MetroPark, located at 1805 River Road. Enjoy a guided evening walk at the Huron Riverpath MetroPark. This event is open to all ages. Walk-ups welcome and no registration is required. Lakeside • Historic Seminar: From 1:30 – 2:30 p.m., at Lakeside Heritage Society, located at 122 W. 2nd Street. The topic of the evening "Historic District One House at a Time: A Database Built to Share Lakeside History thru Cottages." Doug Huber and Laurie Switzer will share the results of a major project to transfer Lakeside's Historic Design Review Board housing records to the Lakeside Heritage Society's online database, expand individual home records to include Lakeside historic information, and make this data available to the public. Catawba • Crafts with Drafts: From noon – 1:30 p.m., at Twin Oast Brewery, located at 3630 N.E. Catawba Road. At this floral workshop, you will get to create a hands-on, patriotic-themed arrangement. The event is lead by Wild by Nature Design and includes materials, instruction, and a drink. Fremont • Squires Baseball Game: From 1 – 3 p.m., at the Hayes Presidential Library and Museums, located at Spiegel Grove. See how base ball was played during the Civil War era, when it was first rising to popularity, with the Spiegel Grove Squires. This season, the Squires, will participate in vintage base ball tournaments and games at other sites in Ohio and home games will be played on the lawn behind the Hayes Home. Spectating is free. TUESDAY Sandusky • Summer Community Block Party: From 4:30 – 6:30 p.m., at The Center, located at 1215 Campbell Street. The Campbell Christian Community Center's second annual celebration of community will feature all the fun Summer things, games, food, music and much more. All are welcome, and this events is free in part by event is made free in part by sponsor, All American Roof Pros. Huron • Bubble Boogie: From 6 - 7 p.m., at the Roger Johnson Nature Center, located inside Osborn MetroPark at 3910 Perkins Avenue. Erie MetroParks will have bubble machines, large wands and other fun bubble toys to play with while listening to your favorite kid-friendly tunes. There will be so many bubbles. Snacks and drinks provided.Open to all ages, walk-ups are welcome and no registration is required.
