Get around in golf carts

SANDUSKY — Driven to serve residents and visitors of downtown Sandusky, a local entrepreneur incorporated golf carts into his ever-expanding business portfolio. Chase Burdue recently debuted Just Cart 'N' Around, which allows people to rent golf carts from a central spot on Jackson Street in downtown Sandusky between West Market and West Water streets. It's across from a public parking lot. "Downtown Sandusky is a nice place to be outside, and if you want to enjoy it at a slower pace, a golf cart will allow you to do just that," said Burdue, who also owns Burdue's Quality Landscaping, Burdue Garden & Flower and The Walking Taco food truck. "Sitting still has never done me any good," Burdue said about juggling several businesses at once. He then referenced what motivates him. "Keeping busy really is the only thing I know that helps me be me," he said. "Creating opportunities and instilling confidence to the young generations, it's more about giving it a shot and your hard work being the key factor to its success." Regarding Just Cart 'N' Around and similar to what people do on Kelleys Island and/or Put-in-Bay, Burdue envisions people renting out golf carts to travel around downtown Sandusky and throughout the city. They're also ideal for weddings, birthdays, corporate events and other special outings, he said. All renters must be 21 with a valid driver's license and have proof of auto insurance. "I offer more of a premium golf cart," said Burdue, noting his fleet features carts equipped to transport anywhere between four and eight people. "There are some extra bells and whistles on them. It will feel good to ride them, but you will also look good doing it." With these golf carts, Burdue also offers a shuttle service — transporting people from one city location to another — and intends on offering a delivery service specifically for food runs.
