Spend summer on the square

MILAN — A few hundred people on Monday enjoyed themselves during the season's first Summer on the Square Market event in Milan's village square. The community-oriented initiative aims to bring everyone, regardless of age, to a central location where they can shop and support small businesses selling a wide variety of goods. Additionally, food trucks served up tasty meals, musicians entertained the crowd, and games kept adults and children occupied in a fun fashion. "It's been very well received," said Taline Gardner, who serves as vice president for Milan's chamber of commerce, which helped coordinate this event. She's also the co-owner of D'Vine Design, also located in the village square. "It's also about bringing more eyes to these great local businesses that are around that have some great and unique products."
