Ramirez has lead in all-star voting

Cleveland Guardians third baseman Jose Ramirez leads the way at his position in the first update on All-Star Game voting. Ramirez received 968,754 votes — third most among all American League players. Ramirez, a six-time all-star, is batting .324 with 13 home runs and 34 RBI. He has a huge lead over Boston's Alex Bregman, who is second in the voting among AL third basemen. Cleveland's Steven Kwan is fourth among AL outfielders. Kwan has 457,882 votes and trails Los Angeles Angels star Mike Trout by fewer than 20,000 votes for a starting spot. Trout, who is batting just .220, is an 11-time all-star. Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge leads all players in the early balloting with 1,568,527 votes, Major League Baseball announced Monday. Seattle catcher Cal Raleigh — who is tied with Judge for the major league lead with 26 home runs — has 1,043,168 votes. Detroit's Riley Greene is second in the voting among American League outfielders. Greene is vying to become just the fifth Tigers outfielder to earn a fan-elected start in the Midsummer Classic and the first since Magglio Ordonez in 2007. Dodgers star Shohei Ohtani, who started Monday night's game against San Diego on the mound, leads all National League players. He has 1.4 million votes as a designated hitter. Former Cleveland shortstop Francisco Lindor, who plays for the New York Mets, is the leading vote-getter among NL players at his position. Starters will be unveiled July 2 with full rosters announced July 6. The All-Star Game will be played July 15 in Atlanta. The All-Star ballot is available online at MLB.com/vote and on all 30 team websites. Phase 1 of the voting concludes at noon Thursday, June 26.
