Suspect charged with sex trafficking

SANDUSKY — A Huron man was recently indicted for multiple felony charges, including sex trafficking. On June 10, Brad G. Kasper, 59, 2200 block Lakefield Drive, was indicted by an Erie County grand jury on the following charges: • One count of trafficking in persons — commercial sex acts, a first-degree felony • One count of compelling prostitution, a third-degree felony • One count of corrupting another with drugs, a second-degree felony • One count of sexual battery, a third-degree felony Erie County Sheriff's Office Detective Sgt. Alexis Harvey, who investigated the case, said her agency office began investigating in April 2024 after the victim, an adult woman, filed the report. Harvey said that, due to the woman's financial situation at the time, she agreed at one point to allegedly trade sex to cover her basic living necessities. "There was no physical force of any kind," Harvey said. "She got to a point with the arrangement where she felt like she couldn't leave." Kasper allegedly admitted to police that he and the woman did have a "sex exchange arrangement," according to Harvey. According to Kasper's indictment, the alleged crimes occurred on or about January 2023 to April 2024. His bond was listed at $50,000. As of Monday night, Kasper has been released from jail, according to court records. Kasper is scheduled to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. on June 25.
