Slicing up the business

HURON — Not even one full year in, and a mushrooming pizza business — known for its homemade, high-quality pies — already expanded into its second spot. After debuting Sir Munchies Pizza in Sandusky last year, this past spring, the local business opened a new spot — called Sir Munchies Pizza of Huron — in Commerce Park Plaza, 414 Cleveland Road E. (U.S. 6) beside Cornell's Foods. Owned by Allan Trevino, he franchised out the Huron-based business to his friend, Joey Charlton. "This is my best friend," Trevino said of Charlton. "He'll give me his shirt off his back in an instant. We thought this would both be a good idea to get rolling in Huron." Sir Munchies in Sandusky received many delivery orders from Huron. Trevino and Charlton both believed catering to Huron-area customers more closely would prove beneficial to both themselves and community members. "The stars really aligned," Trevino said. "Huron has been looking for some new flavor in town. They have had the same legacy pizza shops around for some time, and they said it's refreshing to have some new choices around." Customers in Huron can expect an identical menu to what's offered in Sandusky, which includes a wide selection of original, specialty pizzas, including chicken bacon ranch and dill pickle; foldovers; cheesy bread; chicken wings; subs; salads, desserts; and more. "The proof is in our recipe," Trevino said. "We use fresh quality ingredients, and we don't cut costs to make a cheaper pizza — and we use love to make everything." Charlton came on board mainly because he believes in the business and its product. "It's just something different, and it actually tastes good," he said. "I won't eat anywhere else, as far as pizza. I will only eat this. I tell customers, 'I'm not responsible if you fall in love with my pizza,' and they come back and say, 'You are not wrong.'" Sir Munchies in Huron offers hours from late afternoons to evenings from Wednesdays through Sundays. "We ruin pizza for people," Trevino said. "They can only try us after coming here."
