Hospital highlights 2 'excellent' employees

BELLEVUE — The Bellevue Hospital recently highlighted two "excellent" employees as they constantly go above and beyond for patients every day, according to a health care organizational statement. • Julia McGory, a radiologic technologist in diagnostic imaging, won a Bee Award. She earned this honor for being an "extraordinary team member." "Julia has been part of the Bellevue Hospital family since 2013 and was selected from 23 deserving nominees," the statement read. • Katelynn Taggart, a registered nurse in the emergency department, won a Daisy Award. Taggart, who joined the hospital in 2023, "was selected from a group of 28 exceptional nurse nominees for her outstanding dedication, compassion and commitment to patient care." The award is part of the Daisy Foundation's programs to recognize the super-human efforts nurses perform every day. The Daisy Foundation, a nonprofit, was established by family members in memory of J. Patrick Barnes. Barnes died at the age of 33 in late 1999 from complications of Idiopathic Thrombocytopenic Purpura, a little-known but not uncommon autoimmune disease. The care Barnes and his family received from nurses while he was ill inspired this unique means of thanking nurses for making a profound difference in the lives of their patients and patient families.
