Show up for gazebo concert series

SANDUSKY — A local organization invites the community to attend one, some or all of the scheduled concerts it's organized for this summer. Those with the Sandusky Community Celebrations Council recently announced this year's lineup of events, through the Gazebo Concert Series, taking place at Washington Park, 100-138 E Washington St. Similar to years past, it'll occur from the park's gazebo. "This committee is a volunteer committee that plans and organizes free events to the community," according to an organizational statement, noting it also coordinates the Holiday Lighting Ceremony in November. This year's lighting ceremony will take place at 6 p.m. on Nov. 28. "Start marking your calendars now," the statement read. Series schedule Sponsored by Zion Lutheran Church, the Gazebo Concert Series returns to Washington Park in downtown Sandusky. All concerts will begin at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted: • Tuesday, June 17 — Walt Sanders: The Music of Your Life • Tuesday, June 24 — Culkar-Golob Polka Band • Tuesday, July 1 — North Coast Concert Band • Friday, July 4 as part of the Stars and Stripes Old Fashioned Celebration, which runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. * 10 a.m. — Jaron White Trio * 11 a.m. — Sandusky Choral Society * Noon — Sandusky High School Marching Band children's bike parade * 1 p.m. — Brandon Biehl * 2:30 p.m. — Ragtime Rick & Banjo Betsy • Tuesday, July 8 — Firelands Brass Quintet • Tuesday, July 15 — Dana Dorsey and the Blue Notes • Tuesday, July 22 — South Street Jazz Co. • Tuesday, July 29 — Sleepless Knights • Tuesday, August 5 — North Coast Big Band • Tuesday, August 12 - Erie County Ohio State University Alumni Band In the event of inclement weather, concerts will be relocated indoors to Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Ave. People can reach Susan Sartor at sfsartor@aol.com for more information.
