Hot dog restaurant gets new building

DANBURY TWP. — A local favorite restaurant known for its hot dogs relishes the opportunity to update its facilities and catch up with modern times.Netty's Chili Dogs has locations across Northwest Ohio. It's known for its retro feel, hot dogs and ice cream. The Danbury location opened in 1984 at 9410 E. Harbor Road, across the street from Danbury High School.Tammy and Joe Bartzen took over ownership of the location in 2003. Last May, they broke ground to build an entirely new building and tore down the old one.The original Netty's building which was torn down to build a new updated location."The building was very outdated and beginning to deteriorate, so we didn't have many options," Tammy said. "We also were running out of space to serve our customers to the best of our ability."The Bartzens contracted Makena Construction to handle the project. Tammy said the company has done an amazing job completing the work and they're excited to open for their 2019 season in a new building."Now that the building is more modern we hope to better serve our customers with more up to date equipment," Tammy said.
