Welcome back the Walleye Fest

PORT CLINTON — The 44th-annual Main Street Port Clinton Walleye Festival kicks off today and spans throughout Memorial Day weekend, ending on Monday. It'll take place at Waterworks Park, 205 E. Perry St. (Ohio 163), Port Clinton. Among the event's highlights: free live concerts, a kids fishing derby, a grand parade, educational programs and activities, carnival rides and more than 130 vendors, all helping "make this event one of Ohio's premier outdoor weekend celebrations," according to an event statement. "This is the perfect summer kick-off." Here's a look at when the festival is open on certain days: • Today: 5-11 p.m • Friday: 5-11 p.m. • Saturday: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; The grand parade, however, begins at 10 a.m. • Sunday: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. • Monday: 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Additionally, Dee Jay Chief, Slow Burn, Island Song Trio, Rumours, Ben DeLong, Soul Pilot, Eric Sowers Band and Second Base are scheduled to perform.
