Double-play duo leading bureau's sports team

SANDUSKY — Shores & Islands Ohio, the destination marketing organization and tourism bureau for Erie and Ottawa counties, recently announced a staff promotion and a new team member. Tiffany Frisch Tiffany Frisch, of Sandusky, received a promotion to director of group accounts, which is part of the organization's senior leadership team. In this new role, she will manage the group accounts team and oversee the entire scope of group marketing and services, including meetings and conventions, group tours and sports events. Frisch, a graduate of Bowling Green State University, will mark her 10th anniversary with Shores & Islands Ohio in June, having served in various group-related positions over that time. Jon Limber To address the growing interest from sports event organizers in hosting tournaments and competitions in the region, the bureau also hired a sports tourism coordinator. Jon Limber, of Sandusky, has joined the organization in that role. Limber, a graduate of the University of Findlay, earned a bachelor's degree in communications. During the past nine years, "He has gained valuable experience in event entertainment and marketing, establishing strong local connections along the way," according to a statement. "Jon has always had a passion for the shores and islands region." Drawing up the game plan Through their new roles, Frisch and Limber will work together, with their colleagues and in collaboration with bureau partners to, ultimately, bring more visitors into this region. "While world-class facilities like the Cedar Point Sports Center and Sports Force Parks have long drawn attention to our destination and continue to do so, we are seeing a rising demand that goes beyond traditional venues," Frisch said. "Organizers are increasingly looking to take advantage of everything the region has to offer: from the unique natural setting of Lake Erie to creative, outside-the-box sporting events that make use of our area's diverse landscape and attractions," she added. Limber, in the sports tourism coordinator position, "will serve as a key liaison, ensuring we continue to attract and support a wide range of sporting events that drive economic impact and showcase Shores & Islands Ohio as a premier sports destination," Frisch said. Larry Fletcher, the organization's president, considers them a dynamic double-play duo to accomplish any goal set before them. "Tiffany's elevated role in the organization and bringing Jon onboard will not only allow us to better serve the current demand from groups but to grow the numbers that choose our region for their meetings, events, and other group functions," Fletcher said.
