Bellevue Schools levy approved

BELLEVUE — Local voters once again approved Bellevue Schools' income tax levy. Registered voters within Erie, Huron, Sandusky and Seneca counties approved an income tax renewal levy. According to unofficial results, 802 voters approved the levy. This number of votes is equal to a 59% majority in favor of the levy. Originally passed in 2001, this 10-year renewal will end at the end of 2026 and start up again on Jan. 1, 2027. The tax rate will continue at one-half of 1%. Dollars generated from the levy will be used for instructional supplies, equipment, safety measures, transportation, staffing and other operational costs. "On behalf of the Bellevue Board of Education, we would like to thank everyone for the support of the May 6 ballot issue for the income tax renewal," School board president Stephanie Brown said. "This vote ensures continued funding for the daily operations that support our students and staff." Brown said the board is grateful for the partnerships and the trust placed in members to serve the district and community.
